Nevada, we’ve got a crisis

Nevada’s education crisis has reached a breaking point. And make no mistake, it’s not just a problem for Nevada’s children, it’s a problem for our state’s long-term economic future.

Rory has a plan to totally transform our education system, because he understands that strong schools are the foundation of a strong economy. That’s why he released his EDGE plan back in March, to great reviews from across the political spectrum.

Brian Sandoval has a plan to cut education. And it’s a plan Nevada can’t afford.

That’s the premise of Rory’s latest TV spot, “Plans.” It outlines the choice Nevada voters face in this critical gubernatorial race: Rory’s bold plan to transform our schools and bring new jobs to Nevada, or Brian Sandoval’s plan to add 5,000 teachers to our longest-in-the-nation unemployment line.

If you’re a manager or business owner, you want a prepared, competitive workforce to draw from when you set up your shop and look to hire great employees.

And when you think about moving to a new community or state, what do you look for? A secure job with prospects for growth? A safe neighborhood, with access to services and activities? For most people, that basic list includes good schools for their children.

Brian Sandoval’s approach to education – more cuts, continuing the sad legacy of Jim Gibbons – will put both of those scenarios in serious jeopardy. It will devastate our schools, cripple our economy and cause an exodus of bright minds from our struggling state. To learn more, check out our new online resource, Sandovalfactcheck.com.

Nevada doesn’t need another four years of Gibbons education policies.
