Nevada Conservation League Endorses Rory Reid for Governor

The Nevada Conservation League today announced it's endorsement of Rory Reid for governor.

"Rory Reid has a proven track record of advocacy for conservation and the environment and detailed plans to put Nevada at the forefront of the green industries of the future," said Scot Rutledge, Executive Director. "Our next governor needs to be a leader in renewable energy development and in protecting our natural resources. Rory has both the experience and the vision to move our state forward.

Rory's economic plan for Nevada, The Virtual Crossroads, lays out a path toward the development of clean, sustainable industries to diversify the state's economy and create jobs for the 21st century.

As a member and chairman of the Clark County Commission since early 2003, Rory has been deeply involved in conservation issues on a variety of fronts, including air quality and transit issues, water supply and conservation, open space preservation, and "smart growth" planning that seeks to minimize the impact of urban development on natural resources

"I believe Nevada can and should be a leader in renewable technologies as we diversify our economy," said Reid. "In addition, I want to make sure our state's lakes, streams, mountain ranges and natural habitats are preserved for future generations. I am honored to have the endorsement of the Nevada Conservation League, and I look forward to working with its members to ensure a sustainable future for our state."
